Hello there! I developed my love of learning from my childhood in the redwoods of Northern California. My parents taught me to love and respect nature in all its shapes and forms, and this early learning fostered my deep connection to the world around me. It was this connection that led me to UCSB, a place where I could study the ocean while literally putting my feet in it. It was here that I discovered my love of teaching through the Kids in Nature Program, where I was able to explore the great outdoors with fifth graders. From here, I went back to get my teaching credential at UCSB and was lucky enough to be chosen to work with the best staff in the world – the Roosevelt Rough Riders. I love any opportunity to teach science and exploration, and my favorite part of my day is watching students learn something unexpected and exciting. Outside of school, I love to read, scuba dive, and explore the great outdoors (on land, and above and below sea!). I love teaching and learning, and I am never happier than when I am doing something creative. Go Rough Riders!
