About the Rose Run

All Roosevelt students participate in this fun event by running laps around the Mission Rose Garden in exchange for pledges from family, friends and community members.

The Rose Run is Roosevelt’s largest and most critical fundraisers. The money raised allows TK-6th grade students to participate in art classes and helps pay the salaries of seven curriculum specialists (one for each grade level) who assist teachers in the classrooms. Additionally, funds support Read with Roosevelt, Cultural Arts, Science Fair, After School Enrichment Programs (ASEP) and Parent Education Forums. These programs, activities and classes are not funded by the school district and are made possible only through donations to REEF, the school’s volunteer-based parent/teacher association.

Logo Competition

The Rose Run Committee is proud to announce that the winner of the 2016 Rose Run logo design competition is Emma Zuffelato (6th Grade)!  Emma’s design incorporated students running and celebrating with balloons with beautiful roses all around.  Much like the actual event! Congratulations Emma!

Student Preparation and Awards

In preparation for the fun and exciting event, Roosevelt students work with their classes every week on good running form and discuss the benefits of regular exercise. Preparing for the event helps students boost their confidence and physical ability. Top runners for first through third place for all grades in both male and female categories are awarded a medal and are congratulated on stage at the awards assembly.

2016 Corporate Sponsors

Another important aspect of this fundraiser involves support from local businesses who contribute by funding a corporate sponsorship. There are several levels and benefits for the sponsorships ranging from name and logo recognition on the widely displayed event T-shirts worn by over 600 students and staff and event banner (Bronze/Silver level) to corporate name and logo recognition on E-blasts, print ads as well as T-shirt and banner and single banners hung at school (Gold/Platinum level).
