Principal's Welcome

Welcome to Roosevelt Elementary School, a community committed to inspiring greatness in each one of its students. I am fortunate to be the principal of a school with a long tradition of inspiring children to develop to their highest potential, find meaning and purpose in their lives, and make a difference in their world.

Last winter, I spent a day attending classes to see a Roosevelt student's day firsthand. I observed highly connected students, who were serious about academics and engaged in their learning. I saw trust and respect between students and staff – in the classroom and on the playground, during physical education and in the art studio, and in the countless sparks of learning that happen throughout the day. We all thrive the most in a place where instruction is relevant to our lives, when it challenges us to think deeply and passionately, and yet still nurtures and cares for our whole self. Roosevelt embraces every aspect of a child’s education.

We are a school that embraces the value of community. Whether you are a student or a family, you will feel part of our vibrant and diverse school. It is that sense of belonging that inspires our students to work hard and try new things. Your child will grow not only as a reader, writer, mathematician, scientist, historian, engineer, artist, musician, and athlete but also as a person. As a staff, we know your child is more than a student in our classrooms and will strive to support their academic and social-emotional growth. As a graduating 6th-grader wrote last spring, “I’ve grown and thrived at Roosevelt, and whenever I’m stuck, I have friends and teachers around to help me find my way.”

I am thankful to be part of this remarkable community. Sharing in the development of our most precious gift—our students—is a profound privilege. I encourage you to tour our website, explore our campus, and open the door to an education that will enrich your child’s life.

Thank you for visiting. I hope to see you soon.

Warmly,

Valerie Galindo
